Recreation Realty was established in 1973 for the purpose of providing more comprehensive service to our clients. John Hensley, founder, had been selling real estate in the Nevada City, Scotts Flat Lake area since 1970 working for a Bay Area company that did not have a home base in Nevada County. John wanted to provide a local team of service professionals, so he opened his own Recreation Realty company at it's present location across from the Scotts Flat Lake turn off on Highway 20 east in 1973.
Today, John and his wife Sandra, also a broker, have continued the high quality of service that Recreation Realty has always been noted for. Their combined backgrounds in remodeling of homes to new construction, involvement in all aspects in the selling of real estate, and their team of adjunct service professionals, enable them to provide guidance and expertise to clients in their array of needs for buyers and sellers.
Nevada County Properties and Gold Country Properties were created in 2001 to provide better service to our clients. These two popular names were created as dba's under Recreation Realty Inc. to create higher visibility in an expanding market place.
