SPRING

Spring is a very special time in Nevada City, Grass Valley and Nevada County.
Our trademark daffodils come into bloom along our city streets and wildflowers blanket the mountains. A number of organizations host Daffodil and Spring runs.
Docents at South Yuba River State Park at Bridgeport lead Wildflower walks along the river 11 am Saturdays and Sundays March - May.
Foothills Celebration March 3
Downtown Grass Valley mixes its eclectic Gold Rush feel with a festival featuring the region's exceptional wines, gourmet food and live music, then combines it all with a downtown stroll of the town's boutiques, restaurants and galleries. This is a chance to taste from more than 50 wineries and world-class restaurants, and have an unforgettable food and wine experience.
Foothills Celebration is a collaborative event of the Grass Valley Downtown Association and the Sierra Vintners. This annual favorite was SOLD OUT the last 2 year at 1,200 tickets!
Grass Valley Downtown Car Show attracts antique car enthusiasts from around the country on April 28, 2012.
May 18-20 is Penn Valley Rodeo Week with days of rodeo events and the parade finale!
May 27, 2012 from 10am-5pm is the Annual Sierra Festival of the Arts in downtown Grass Valley. A fun street fare featuring fine arts and crafts of local artists.
Also June 4 is the American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life of Nevada County" at the Nevada County Fairgrounds.
