Happy Spring!
Daffodils have been in full bloom for weeks now throughout the Sierra Foothills. And beautiful native dogwoods are flowering out too! It is the perfect time for hiking and biking the trails around our beautiful area.

Nevada County Properties/Recreation Realty to celebrate 40 years!
It is hard to believe our 40th Anniversary serving Nevada County real estate is upon us. We are privileged to have served so many wonderful clients – many of whom are now dear friends – over the last four decades.
We are planning a lively 40th Anniversary celebration for August 15 at our Hwy 20 Harmony Ridge Office in conjunction with a Nevada City Chamber Mixer. Sgt Funky Band will entertain with their Vintage Rock and Roll! Mark your calendars for 6-8:00 pm Thursday August 15. We want you all to celebrate with us.
On the heels of summer
Summer will soon be here! Nevada County goes all out to have a good time throughout the summer months. In addition to a wide range of recreation options on our beautiful lakes and hillsides, locals take to the streets for play and entertainment throughout the Summer. Visit our site for more details … but here a some highlights of what is to come.
Starting June 15 and continuing through November, Nevada City Farmers Market takes over Union Street every Saturday. And in conjunction with the first Farmers Market, Nevada City Rotary will host its first Treasures for Scholars, Bargains for You sale of new and gently used items in the Alpha Building next door to the Market. All proceeds will go to fund scholarships for local youth and adults!
June 16 Nevada City will host its 53rd Nevada City Classic. The second oldest bicycle race in the country, the Nevada City Classic on Father’s Day each year attracts the nation’s top cyclists and thousands of visitors.
July 4th Parade and Celebration
No community loves a parade more than ours! Join us in downtown Grass Valley for the 2013 4th of July Parade. The parade starts at 2pm in downtown Grass Valley.
Following the parade is a traditional family celebration under the pines at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley. Gates open at 3pm and entertainment begins at 4pm. Live music and entertainment, food and refreshments are offered. The fireworks spectacular blasts off at 9:30 p.m.
Nevada City Summer Nights
Wednesdays July 17, 24, & 31 is Nevada City Summer Nights. Nevada City Summer Nights is a delightful outdoor festival of art and music with local musicians performing on outdoor stages throughout the downtown area.
Thursday evenings July through August Grass Valley’s Thursday Night Market. Local farmers line Mill and Main Streets with fresh produce and food products. Artists, merchants and food vendors offer a wide variety of products in downtown stores and on the streets.
July 11-14 – California World Fest features eight stages of continuous music and dance from around the world. Celebrate mid-summer with us under the cool, tall pines of the Sierra foothills Nevada County Fairgrounds with workshops, international food, fine crafts, and the renowned children’s program. The Nevada County Fairgrounds is a beautiful setting to camp with family and friends during the festival.
Nevada County Fair “Under the Big Top”
August 7-11 is “Under the Big Top” at The Nevada County Fair! The LA Times claims it is one of the top 10 County Fair’s in the Country.
As we do each year, once again we will be serving pulled pork and other treats at the Nevada City Rotary booth on Treat Street!
And the highlight of the summer will be our 40th Anniversary Celebration the week after the Fair. As this big anniversary approaches, we are especially mindful of the contributions each of you have made to our success!
